Hours of OperationThe pool will be open on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and close on Labor Day. The regular hours of operation will be subject to change depending on weather conditions. The manager on duty has the discretion to close the pool. The pool will be open limited hours during weekdays when Kenton County Public Schools are in session so please check the bulletin board, phone message or website for updated information.
2008 Managers Lance Melching will manage Brookwood for the first time in 2008. Previously, he has served as Assistant Manager (2003-2005), Head Swim Coach (2002-2005), Assistant Swim Coach (2001), Lifeguard (1998-2003), and even Staff Member (1996-1998). He has teaching degrees from Eastern Kentucky University ('06, '07) and lives in Independence with his wife, Lindsay, and dogs Riley and Tommy. Melching says that being back on the Brookwood staff feels "like coming home." Kevin Mayleben will be the Associate Manager in 2008. Mayleben has been involved with Brookwood for almost a decade and says he is "excited to be back for the 2008 Summer!" He is pursuing a major in Special Education at the University of Cincinnati and will start student teaching this fall in Clermont County Ohio. Mayleben is also involved in Northern Kentucky Catholic Life at Newport Central Catholic High School. Katie Lenihan will be an Assistant Manager this summer. Lenihan will be a junior at the University of Kentucky where she is a Dietetics major with aspirations to become a physicians assistant. She has worked from Brookwood as a swim team coach and/or lifeguard for the past 4 seasons and will be heading up swim lessons this summer. She says she's looking forward to a great summer working with Brookwood again. Andrew Smith will also be an Assistant Manager this summer. Smith is an accounting major at Northern Kentucky University and expects to graduate in 2010 and become a Certified Public Accountant. He has worked at Brookwood almost every summer for the last 7 years, starting in 2001 as a staffer before becoming a lifeguard and swim coach. He will coach swimming again this summer. Smith says "I am looking forward to this summer and hope it's enjoyable." |
